Ancich Waterfront Park

Viewing platform, grand staircase leading from the platform down to a lower-level plaza. Lower-level plaza has picnic tables and public restrooms. An ADA lift can transport those with disabilities down to the water level. The Ancich Pier on the west side features a fully functional rehabilitated netshed. Views of the harbor, limited access to the shoreline.

Crescent Creek Park

Cushman Trail

From Narrows Bridge (14th Avenue NW) to Borgen Boulevard. Approximately 6.2 miles with mixed grades, 16-foot-wide pervious pavement, non-motorized trail for pedestrian and bike use. Five restrooms along trail. Four onsite parking locations. Bike racks, benches and picnic tables along the trail.

Donkey Creek Park

Jerisich Dock

Dock landing, picnic table, seasonal water and pump-out (April 1 through November 1) in the heart of downtown. Transient moorage for boats (Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day: $1 per foot, with a minimum charge of $20 per night. All other days: $.50 per foot, with a minimum charge of $10 per night). Water, power available; free day use. Boats moored past 8pm must register at kiosk. Maximum stay three days in a 10-day period. Life jacket loaner stations. Welcome plaza with restrooms, seasonal splash pad/water feature, accessible viewing deck with picnic tables.

Wilkinson Farm Park

Sixteen-acre wildlife park with wetlands, holly groves, meadows, community garden and trails. Power outlets, water fountain and water hose bib. Historic homestead includes a barn, house and outbuildings. No restrooms. Onsite parking. Park is a landmark along the Cushman Trail.


PenMet Parks


Cushman Powerline Trail

Reid Drive NW (14th Avenue NW) to Borgen Boulevard

This 6.2-mile trail is owned by Tacoma Public Utilities and permitted for use to PenMet Parks (2010) and the City of Gig Harbor. Trailhead parking areas are on 14th Avenue NW, Hollycroft Way, Kimball Drive, Grandview Street and Borgen Boulevard. The trail is a 16-foot-wide paved asphalt pedestrian route exclusively for non-motorized uses. Bike racks, benches and picnic tables along the path.


Fox Island Fishing Pier

Sitting on 5.5 acres, this picturesque fishing spot includes 635 linear feet of shoreline and has a 1,200-square-foot handicap accessible pier, paved pathway, handrails, restroom and picnic area.


Hales Pass Park

Four acres include a rustic 1938 CCC building and picnic shelter, tennis courts and baseball field. The site has served as a school and community hall and is available for meetings, classes and social gatherings.


Harbor Family Park

This 18.7-acre park is open to the public with access via primitive trails.


McCormick Forest Park

The 122-acre park has abundant wildlife with more than 4 miles of trails of varying difficulty for walkers, runners, cyclists and horses. Trails wander through old-growth forest and offer views down into the McCormick Creek canyon. Parking is across the street on Bujacich Road NW in the fire station lot.


Narrows Park

With 35 acres and offering more than 1,000 feet of Tacoma Narrows shoreline access, enjoy excellent fishing and views of the Tacoma Narrows bridge. A paved path winds to a gazebo and the sandy rock beach. Two telescopes provide up-close views of the bridge and beach. The 6-acre waterfront has paved parking, grassy play and picnic area, picnic table and non-motorized boat launch.


Rosedale Park & Community Hall

86th Ave.NW and Rosedale St.

This 2-acre site is located across from Rosedale Market. Rosedale Playfield has a combined fenced grass youth soccer field and a grass 200-foot softball diamond. Across the street are two outdoor tennis courts and a half-basketball court. Rosedale Hall is located adjacent to the tennis courts. The 2,400-square-foot building provides 2,000 square feet of meeting space with a 400-square-foot kitchen and can be rented for community and organization events.


Sehmel Homestead Park

Encompassing 98 acres, Sehmel Homestead Park includes boundless playground, artificial turf, soccer/football/lacrosse field, Boeing Mariners Care baseball field, two softball fields, tennis and basketball courts, 1,500-person amphitheater, 100-person pavilion, picnic areas, open grass meadow, heritage garden, pond, over 4 miles of trail and 76 acres of meadow, pond, wetlands and forest conservancy area. Sunrise Beach Park

The 6-acre beachfront portion of the park includes designated parking areas, picnic tables, day-use areas, 2 miles of walking trails and forest paths with views of Mount Rainier and Puget Sound, and beach access to the 2,400-linear-foot shoreline on Colvos Passage. The beach provides access to a popular scuba diving destination and fishing. Portable toilets. Unpaved parking.


Key Pen Parks


360 Trails

Accessible through Gateway Park by using the trailhead. This 360-acre property, located on the north end of the Key Peninsula, includes trails which are accessible to walkers, equestrians and mountain bikers. The main trail is a large 2-mile open loop that takes about an hour to walk, with smaller trails that cut throughout the woods to rejoin with the main trail. Whatever level of mountain bike experience you have, the trails are designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders. Pump track. Picnic tables and benches. Trailhead kiosk. Wildlife viewing. Available for events.

Gateway Park

Featuring 72 acres, this is Key Pen Parks newest park. This park features plenty of parking, restrooms, play areas for all ages and a large pavilion. Key Pen Parks purchased this 39-acre property in 2012 (and another 33 acres in 2016). A Master Plan was adopted in April 2015 for Gateway Park. The Master Plan includes sports fields, playground, restrooms, a splash pad, amphitheater and more. Its proximity to the 360 Trails has allowed for a trailhead from Gateway Park. Construction will continue to take place as funds allow.


Home Park

This is the first neighborhood park on the Key Peninsula, complete with a playground, picnic shelter, adult swing and restroom. This park is a tremendous asset to the community and enjoyed by all ages.


Key Central Forest

10527 Wright Bliss Rd. NW

Gig Harbor, WA 98329

The 480-acre property is off Wright Bliss Road. Visitors may park at the gate just off the road and walk in. The property consists of forested land and Vaughn Creek, a salmon habitat creek. While there are many trails in Key Central Forest, they are not through trails and dead-end. Wildlife viewing.


Maple Hollow Park

This 58-acre site offers a circular trail with midpoint access to a stretch of beach along Puget Sound with views of Mount Rainier. The park includes an improved walking trail, hiking trails, handicap-accessible trail, picnic area and walking access to a saltwater beach on Carr Inlet. There are three campsites via water access only. The park is open to the public, even when the gate is closed.


Rocky Creek Conservation Area

Elgin Clifton Access Rd.

The area covers over 224 acres of park, open spaces and conservation land and is managed jointly with Pierce County and Key Pen Parks. Rocky Creek has over 3 miles of walking (non-motorized) trails, two benches, a trailhead kiosk with map and limited parking space at the trailhead. The property consists of wetlands, two streams, and various plants and wildlife.


Taylor Bay

This is a non-motorized boat access park, which includes 40 acres of wetlands, pocket estuary, mudflats, lagoon, salt marshes, creeks, forested uplands, riparian areas and patches of open meadows. A great place for a picnic!


Volunteer Park

This 20-acre park includes three baseball fields with lights, picnic areas, skateboarding park, horseshoe pits, half-court basketball, quarter-mile ADA paved walking trail. Restrooms, outside concert area, 9-hole disc golf course, picnic shelter rental. Home of the Snack Shack.


Dog Parks


McCormick Forest Off-Leash Dog Area

Area of 122 acres of old-forest growth that is fenced in for dogs to play off-leash. Water stations and refuse bags at each entrance. All handlers must carry a leash per dog. Outside of this area dogs must be leashed within the rest of McCormick Park. No bicycles or horses permitted within this fenced area.


Rotary Bark Park

10100 Bujacich Rd.

This 97-acre natural area contains a 15-acre off-leash dog area with over 1 mile of fenced trails. The property includes older forest, regenerating forest, abundant wildlife, and over 3 miles of trails for hikers, bicycles or horses. Features off-leash area with play meadow, paved parking, portable toilet, refuse bags. Park in Fire District No. 5 Headquarters lot.


Tubby’s Trail Dog Park

1701 14th Ave. NW

Gig Harbor, WA 98335

Small dog off-leash area with play meadow for dogs under 25 pounds. Large dog off-leash area with play meadow. Additional features include parking, portable toilets and refuse bags. Tubby was a black male cocker spaniel who fell into fame when Galloping Gertie collapsed on November 7, 1940. As the only victim of that great disaster, Tubby has earned a special place in the hearts of many.
